Happy 2011

Dear Family and Friends,
Happy New Year! I didn't get a Christmas card done in time but I thought a New Year's one is just as good! We hope you are all doing well and had a wonderful Holiday Season. We feel truly blessed as we close out 2010. I remember telling Chad last January how I really hoped 2010 was a lucky year for us, and thank goodness it was!
Our first moment of good luck came in February when we found out we were expecting. Then hearing that heartbeat was a huge relief. We got to find out we were having a boy on April 27th, our 3rd Anniversary. We were so excited and I was relieved because Chad told me I had to keep having babies until I had a boy...now I'm off the hook! I couldn't wait and the shopping and baby crafts began.
In May we had continual good luck with Chad's graduation from Arizona State University in Civil Engineering. I think I was almost more excited that he was done than he was! Chad did an amazing job in school and I am so proud of him for working so hard. His plan was to continue on to get his Masters but when his boss in Safford offered him a full time position we just couldn't resist. Shortly after graduation we moved back to Safford. Chad loves his job which in itself is a huge blessing.
In June we found a house for a really good deal and put in our offer. Little did we know we wouldn't move in until December. That whole situation wasn't very lucky but we are glad to finally be in our home. Chad and his dad did a lot of work to fix it up and we love our first little home.
Our luckiest event of our lives happened on September 26th. Gunnar Michael Crockett was born weighing in at 7 pounds 15 ounces. Lucky for me he was under eight pounds! The delivery went well and we have a perfect, healthy, handsome baby boy. Gunnar brings such joy into our home and we feel so blessed to have him in our family. I love being a stay at home mom and feel so blessed to get to spend so much time with Gunnar. We enjoy watching him grow and develop and learn new things everyday.
Chad is doing well and has enjoyed his new hobby with his bow. He wants to get into bow hunting now that we are in our house and things are settling down. Chad is the Ward Mission Leader and does an amazing job in his calling. It is hard having him gone more for meetings but I know we are blessed for his service.
I am loving being a mom. I taught myself how to sew this summer and have had so much fun making baby things for Gunnar. Chad got me my own sewing machine and surger so now the possibilities are endless! I never thought I would be a sewer but I really enjoy making cute things!
As we start this new year we hope to become better people and most of all come closer to our Savior Jesus Christ. We love the Gospel and the blessings it brings us. We treasure our testimonies and strive to strengthen them. We are grateful for wonderful family and friends. Now let's just hope 2011 is another 'lucky' year!
All Our Love,
Kamala, Chad & Gunnar

A Crockett Christmas!

All 7 grandkids (Evan, Reagan, KC, Janie, Gunnar, Krew, and Kase)

YAY a surger!

Leslie got Jon a hooded towel with his name just like the grandkids!

I love the look on Gunnar's face!

So handsome in his Christmas outfit
We had a great Christmas this year!  We spent the weekend with all of Chad's family.  Christmas Eve we did the Nativity with Grandma Crockett reciting the story from Luke by heart.  I guess I only got it on video without any pictures...dang.  After the Nativity the kids opened their Christmas jammies then heard jingle bells outside. They were so funny they all RAN to bed so that Santa would come and we didn't hear from them again.  We were the only ones who didn't sleep at Chad's parents but that's quite ok with us!  We went over at 6 and joined in for the fun.  The kids were all up and ready but we all had to wait for Evan who had to poop!  The kids were so cute and make is so fun.  Evan was more excited for his sticky hand and yo yo than his red bike.  After stockings we did the treasure hunt.  Each family had a treasure hunt to go on so it took awhile for all 6 to go.  Santa gave us a pizza stone and a cute measuring stick to put on the wall to measure Gunnar as he grows.  Then the madness began as everyone started grabbing presents and tearing them open.  I prefer to go one at a time so you can see what everyone gets but oh well.  I sat and watched everyone else open and then we opened ours.  Meanwhile Gunnar was crashed out on Grandma's bed!  Chad got me a sewing machine and a surger and I'm so excited!!  The possibilities are endless now!  I got Chad snowboard bindings and a ping pong table and he was pretty excited.  Now it just needs to snow so he can go snowboarding.  Gunnar got lots of toys and clothes and a bumbo that he's not quite ready for yet!  We had a wonderful Christmas and I can't wait till next year when Gunnar is a little bit bigger.  It just gets beter from here on out!

Yay we have internet!

Love his smiles!

We were in the Nativity for our Ward Christmas Party.  Gunnar made such a cute baby Jesus!

Family Room no more brick!

Gunnar's room no longer pink!  Still needs decorated and window treatments though!

This post is long overdue...we finally moved into our house!  We love it!  It took awhile to get internet and tv.  We are getting all settled in.  We still have some organizing to do but it's feeling more and more like home.  Gunnar man is doing good! He's huge now.  He weighed 12lb 3 oz at his 2 month check up.  Now he'll be 3 months on Sunday so he's probably well over 13 lbs!  I LOVE LOVE LOVE him!  I love being home with him and playing with him all day.  He is loving his little playmat and his favorite book is The Little Engine That Could.  He got that one from Dolly Parton herself!haha He gets one book a month until he's 5 from her.  When I read to him he talks and tries to get the pictures.  He's so cute and such a good baby.  He goes 8 hours at night between feedings and it's heavenly!  Sometimes he wakes up for his binky but he is doing better.  We are excited for Christmas with Chad's family.  We'll do another Christmas post soon! Right now Gunnar is needing my attention!

What a special day!

We blessed Gunnar on Sunday and it couldn't have been more perfect.  Chad gave him a beautiful blessing.  I sure do love my boys.  We had so much family there, thanks everyone for coming and supporting us!  Gunnar looked so handsome all dressed in white.  I am loving every minute of being a mom now that all the pain is gone!  Gunnar is so adorable.  He is starting to respond...sometimes!  He smiles but I don't think he does it on purpose yet!  I put him on his tummy yesterday for tummy time and he rolled over!  Yikes!  My 6 week old is NOT supposed to roll over yet.  I think his head just makes him off balance and so he rolls right over.  Makes tummy time kind of hard to do when he won't stay on his tummy.  He's growing way too fast.  I'm sure he's well over 10 lbs now.
