My Brilliance!

So the other day our water was off ALL DAY! This tends to pose some problems...1. Dirty, stinky dishes from the day in the sink, Yuck! 2. No flushing the toilets...big problem! 3. No showers, Stinky! I got home from work at about 8:00pm and the water was still off. I found Chad sitting in the rocking chair kinda grouchy. I asked him what was wrong and he said, "Well I can't eat cause then I'll have to poop and we only get one flush per toilet so I don't want to waste it." Granted he was dead serious!
I said in reply, "That's the dumbest idea I've ever heard of! You have to eat or you get grouchy and I don't want to deal with you being grouchy! We have drinking water stored we can use to flush the toilets."
Chad, "No, I don't want to use our drinking water."
This next part is where my brilliance kicked in! "Oh I know! We'll just steal some water from the pool to flush the toilets! Then you can eat and all will be well!"
Chad, "We don't have any buckets. Oh wait here's one with a bag of wheat in it we can use this one."
So we were on our way to the pool with our bucket! Only problem...they switched the lock and we never got a new key. So Chad jumped the fence then lifted the bucket over to me. Here's our pic to prove it! We got the water, flushed our toilets, ate dinner, and all was well! What would Chad do without me! Starve and be grouchy!!haha

This has been our new project lately. I draw the template on the wood and then Chad cuts out the frame with his sweet tools. Then I paint it and make it cute! I think this one turned out really cute considering we made it!
Sorry I forgot to turn it first. Dang it!

Seeing Double...

Yep we had 2 Probes that were even the same color! Chad found a Probe on Craigs list for $500 that had 60,000 less miles than mine. So... he bought it! The new Probe was junky inside and I didn't like it! So Chad decided he would just swap the engines and take the AC out of the new one for mine. Sounds simple enough thought my ignorant little mind! Ya it turned into quite the process! Chad spent 2 weeks working all day long on this project. It did give him something to do but man was I ready to have a clean husband home when I got home! I don't like dirty mechanic boys! And when he finished, both cars ran great! That's pretty good considering he learned as he went! So I now have my Probe with AC and 60,000 less miles! Oh boy just what I wanted was to extend the life of the Probe!!haha The best part was Chad sold the other Probe which now had an additional 60,000 miles and no AC for $800! SWEET!

Quarter of a Century!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHAD!!! Today is Chad's 25th birthday and I get to spend every minute of it with him! Lucky boy even got to go to church on his birthday! We're having the fam over at 6 to play games and eat yummy dessert so there will be pictures to come! I made cheesecake and danish dessert. I love you Chad and I'm so lucky you are mine! You are such a great husband and my best friend. I love just being with you and hate it when you are gone!! I'm so glad you are only 25 cause that means I have a LOT more years to be with you! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Here's some pics of the day! For some reason now that Chad is 25 he can't seem to keep his eyes open for the camera! We tried time and time again and had to settle for what you see!haha Silly boy!

Back to Reality...

We had a fun relaxing Christmas break! That's one of the best parts about being a teacher is getting 2 weeks off! It's even better to be a student and get a month off! We headed to Safford on Monday before Christmas. Chad helped his dad remodel a room and I basically sat around and did nothing! Neither of our families got together this year so it was a quiet Christmas. We spent it at Chad's house with Kade and the parents! Once again my pics are out of order but oh well!

I gave my mom some letter blocks like I made and it was hilarious watching them try to figure it out! Granted I did put it in the box in order but that didn't help! It seriously took them 5 minutes to figure out the word. Then when my mom had it spelled out Don still couldn't read it! Oh dear was all I said! I wasn't counting on that problem! It said 'Inspire' and once they could both read it they liked it!
At Chad's house Santa does a scavenger hunt for your first present Christmas morning. We had fun looking for all our clues and I totally rocked this year!! I think I helped Kade find all of his! Thanks for the gift card Santa!!
Chad opening his stocking with a very happy face! This is his very own 'weanie warmer' cause it's COLD in Safford!!haha Santa you naughty boy for coming up with that one!!haha
Christmas Eve Chad and I went up the mountain to play in the snow. We slid down this really awesome hill then had a major problem! It was so steep we couldn't get back up! The ground underneath the new snow was frozen so we kept slipping down! I'd get up 2 inches then slide down 4. It was a blast though!
So pretty with all the snow! And yes...Chad is wearing my beanie cause he forgot his!haha
For New Years we went to Aunt Marcia's and hung out with Emily and Jon. Melissa and Chris came over later and played games with us. I made yummy green chile and sour cream cookies. It was laid back but we had fun ringing in the new year. We all made it to midnight then headed home!
Saturday we went snowboarding with Emily and Jon and their friend Gene. The day started very early and ended late but it was a blast! We drove up to Snowbowl and hit the slopes. I was pleasantly surprised that I got off the lift without falling and managed to actually look like I knew what I was doing! I still can't carve but oh well! Emily and I got brave and headed to the top of the mt with the boys...bad idea!! Getting off that lift was SCARY! It's a man made ramp so coming up you see the boards and it looks HIGH! As soon as we slid off the lift the boys took off...ya thanks guys! Em and I couldn't get going on this little trail part and it took us FOREVER! Em kept saying she couldn't do it but well... we didn't have a choice we were at the top of the mt! We perservered and made it to the bottom completely exhausted and done for the day! It took us 2 hours to get from Snowbowl to Flagstaff and that meant 5 very grumpy passengers! We were starving and not in the mood to sit in traffic that long. We met Aaron and Amanda for dinner and scarfed our plates! Then headed home. Sunday morning I could barely move but it was all worth it!
Now it's Friday and I'm happy to say I made it through the week!! Going back to work always stinks after a nice break! It's been a hard week but I did it and now I'm going to be happy I decided! I'm crossing my fingers for a great 2010! We could really use some good luck!
