One Spoiled Girl!

Chad asked me last week if I'd go on a date this Friday with him. I came home from work yesterday and I was told I couldn't go upstairs. He picked out an outfit for me while I looked through the mail. I figured he had the bedroom decorated for after the date... There was a letter for me from One Day Getaways with the other mail. The letter was postmarked and looked totally real. Ya I didn't get that it was from Chad for our date!!haha We were on our way and I had no idea what we were off to do! He drove into Scottsdale which I have never really been in so I still had no idea what we were doing. We ended up at Oregenos one of our favorites! Yummy! Already the date was a blast! After dinner I figured we'd go home and watch a movie in our decorated bedroom... Chad kept driving into Scottsdale! We were driving through all these nice resorts and I said, "Man it would be cool to stay in one of these! Maybe someday huh!" He's like hey it would be fun to walk through one and just act like we know what we are doing. Let's see which one has the best pool! "OK"!! I'm still clueless!!haha We start walking through one and he pulls out the key to the room. I start screaming and he opens the door to a decorated room. I figured there's no way we are staying here because we don't even have our stuff. He came while I was at work and took all our stuff and decorated the room with candles, lights, and rose petals! I was SHOCKED! We had our own private hot tub on the porch and it was so nice! It was kinda stormy outside so the weather was perfect for a warm hot tub! Then we went swimming in a really cool pool. We played ping pong and drank mountain dew to stay up late!!haha We turned the air down to 62 and just enjoyed life! It was so much fun and something I did not expect at all! I love surprises and this one tops them all! It was out of the blue but really it was to celebrate our 1 year anniversary a few months ago. We never really did anything special. Chad even brought our wedding video and my DVD player! Oh I almost forgot he brought everything he needed to make me waffles and smoothies for breakfast! He's the best husband ever!! You all should have a getaway! Maybe you'll get a letter from One Day Getaways too!!!haha

Our Amazing trip to Havasupai

We just got back from hiking Havasupai and we had a blast!! Sorry for the long post but this is our big event of the summer so we have to talk it up!!haha It all started on Sunday afternoon... we went and picked up Jeff and Murr Tysoe. Of course right when we took their bags to the truck it started pooring rain! Not a good start to a camping trip! Good thing Chad is a genius and was prepared with a tarp to cover the backpacks! Way to go Chad! We left town at about 4pm headed to Flagstaff. Our first stop was one last big meal before camping food!

That's Red Lobster if you can't tell!

We had some time to kill before we wanted to arrive at the top so we headed to Barnes and Noble to do some reading! Dairy Queen was right next door and I just couldn't resist. It was the luckiest trip to DQ ever... right when we walked in they asked if anyone wanted a free cherry dipped cone! Not my favorite but FREE... I totally took it! It was a great trip already! We left Flag about 9pm headed to the trail head 3 hours away. On Indian Road 18 we saw quite a few elk! Made for an exciting, but scary drive! As soon as we parked at the top of course it started raining!! So we kicked it for a little while but we were too excited to wait. So we got everything ready and headed out in the sprinkles!

We took our time on the way down because the office where you pay at the bottom didn't open until 7am. It got pretty tiring hiking in the middle of the night! We were sure glad to make it to the village. Here's a picture of us at the tourist center. Past the village we had 2 miles to go to get to the campground. Let's just say that was the longest 2 miles ever! It was like hiking in a rodeo arena up and down hills! We weren't the happiest campers at that point in the trip!

The View

But the view of Havasu Falls made it all worth it! You're jealous of our trip now huh! The hike not so much but this made it all worth it! A little bit further to go and we were in the water soaking our aching feet! We camped right by the stream so we got to sleep to the sound of running water! I'm having a hard time posting pictures where I want them in my writing so I'm gonna do another big post of pictures. Then I'll do some more comentary!
