We just got back from hiking Havasupai and we had a blast!! Sorry for the long post but this is our big event of the summer so we have to talk it up!!haha It all started on Sunday afternoon... we went and picked up Jeff and Murr Tysoe. Of course right when we took their bags to the truck it started pooring rain! Not a good start to a camping trip! Good thing Chad is a genius and was prepared with a tarp to cover the backpacks! Way to go Chad! We left town at about 4pm headed to Flagstaff. Our first stop was one last big meal before camping food!
That's Red Lobster if you can't tell!
We had some time to kill before we wanted to arrive at the top so we headed to Barnes and Noble to do some reading! Dairy Queen was right next door and I just couldn't resist. It was the luckiest trip to DQ ever... right when we walked in they asked if anyone wanted a free cherry dipped cone! Not my favorite but FREE... I totally took it! It was a great trip already! We left Flag about 9pm headed to the trail head 3 hours away. On Indian Road 18 we saw quite a few elk! Made for an exciting, but scary drive! As soon as we parked at the top of course it started raining!! So we kicked it for a little while but we were too excited to wait. So we got everything ready and headed out in the sprinkles!
We took our time on the way down because the office where you pay at the bottom didn't open until 7am. It got pretty tiring hiking in the middle of the night! We were sure glad to make it to the village. Here's a picture of us at the tourist center. Past the village we had 2 miles to go to get to the campground. Let's just say that was the longest 2 miles ever! It was
like hiking in a rodeo arena up and down hills! We weren't the happiest campers at that point in the trip!

The View
But the view of Havasu Falls made it all worth it! You're jealous of our trip now huh! The hike not so much but this made it all worth it! A little bit further to go and we were in the water soaking our aching feet! We camped right by the stream so we got to sleep to the sound of running water! I'm having a hard time posting pictures where I want them in my writing so I'm gonna do another big post of pictures. Then I'll do some more comentary!

Day 2
Day 2 we hiked a mile past the camp grounds to Mooney falls. This one is 200 feet! This is the view from the top! Pretty sweet! As we started climbing down the cliff we got to this sign! Makes ya think twice about what you're doing!
This was a SCARY climb down! My heart was racing and my legs were shaking! Chad said he was only scared that I was going to fall!
Luckily we made it down and back up safely! It was well worth it!
