Before and Afters

We recently finished the bathroom so I thought I would show some before and after pictures of our house so we can all appreciate all the hard work that went into it!  I'll have to take more pictures to get all the angles but that will have to wait until all the decorating is done...we'll see if that ever happens since I am terrible at decorating a house.  Anyways we love our house that is now starting to feel like home.  Enjoy :)
   Here's Gunnar's Room Before...

Gunnar's room AFTER (quite a change huh!)  Chad and his dad sheet rocked the walls and took out the sliding glass door and put a wall up.  I painted and decorated!  His room is the only one that is decorated :)

Chad custom fit the cabinets and countertop.  He cut out the holes for the sinks and did the plumbing.  He did the molding around the back and along the floors.  He wired the lighting for two lights and hung the mirror.  He's amazing I know!  I painted and painted and painted and picked out the cute shower curtain :)
Gunnar likes the new bathroom too!  He likes to play in his bouncer while I shower and get ready.

Notice all the brick is gone ya that was Chad and his dad.  It took forever and I complained a lot but what can I say having a baby and buying a house at the same time is NOT a good idea!  We also just got new to us couches and I like them so much better.  I'm in the process of making some awesome pillows.  And Gunnar just makes a good prop for all the pictures!  Oh and yes that's not your imagination that picture above the couch is lifesize and bigger than our TV!haha

5 Month Cutie

I can't believe my Gunnar man is already 5 months old.  Crazy how fast time flies.  He is seriously getting cuter everyday.  He is such a good baby and we are so glad.  He is so happy and content.  For his 5 month mark we decided to celebrate with an ear infection and cold...lucky us!  Other than being a little more fussy he's actually doing really well.  Hopefully he has a good night... He weighed in at 17 lbs today at the Dr!  He's such a big boy and growing way too fast.  He usually sleeps through the night which is amazing.  Love him and love that he's ours for eternity!

That smile melts my heart every time

Gunnar loves his bed.  I just put him in his crib and he goes to sleep with the help of that little binki!  He wakes up happy to see me and silly boy sometimes thinks it's time to be happy in the middle of the night!

Vegas Baby!

My whole family met in Vegas for the weekend since it's about half way between AZ and UT.  We had a blast hanging out and seeing the sights in Vegas.  Friday Chad and I were first to arrive so after checking into our hotel we headed to the strip.  We had never been so we didn't really know what to do.  We just started walking and that was a bit of a mistake...we walked way too much that first day!  Plus Vegas is not very baby friendly to say the least.  None of the bathrooms have a place to change babies and of course no where to feed Gunnar.  The only chairs are at the slot machines.  Luckily it all worked out even though it stressed me out!  Gunnar LOVED Vegas though!  His eyes would get huge as we walked through casinos.  He loved the slot machines with the noise and flashing lights.  He was such a good boy the whole time.  He would just chill in the stroller checking everything out.  After walking a ton we ate at the MGM buffet.  It was pricey but oh it was so delicious!  All you can eat crab legs already opened for you...yum!  That's basically all we did was eat and eat and eat!  After eating we were worn out so we headed back to the hotel and got in the hot tub.  The weather was pretty cold all weekend but luckily we didn't get all rained out.  After accident delays (luckily not them) and a broken car everyone else made it to the hotel.  Saturday we went to M&Ms World which was cool but way too crowded.  Then ALL 22 of us went to the magic show.  Pretty funny when the show girls come walking out in their little bikinis!haha  It was a pretty good magic show though...gets me every time!  Then we went and ate at yet another buffet at the Orleans.  Good thing the hotel had a really big hot tub for all of us!  Sunday we all went and ate at Memphis BBQ to celebrate Mary's birthday.  They gave us our own banquet room so that was nice.  Then we headed out to red rock to take pictures and do a little hiking.  We didn't make it too far with the stroller.  We should've bought a baby back pack before the trip.  We hung out in the game room at the hotel the rest of the afternoon.  Then some of us went to the Luxor to eat and look around.  That hotel was really cool.  Monday was a LONG day in the car coming home.  Gunnar slept most of the way and cried some but did really well.  I thought he'd be up all night but he slept 10 hours. I guess he likes his bed and Vegas wore him out!  Here's some pics to go with this long post!

Oh yes and I turned 25 last week yikes! Chad brought me beautiful roses. (and yes I had pink eye on my bday...dumb)

Chad was most excited to stop at Hoover Dam and do the tour. Sadly there was a problem in the power plant right before our tour so we didn't get to go.  Chad was bummed...looks like we'll have to go back :)

The new bridge is HUGE.  This is from the dam looking at the bridge.  As you drive over it you can't see anything because the walls are too high, probably a good thing!

Belagio watching the fountains

This was Gunnar the whole time, just happy playing with his toys in his stroller.

Most of the gang at the magic show. Impossible to get everyone in the same shot.  Brooklyn was so funny she thought the show girls were barbies!haha

Gunnar and Chad wating for the magic show to start.  Gunnar did not like the loud noises and music.

The birthday girl at Memphis BBQ

The kids all got ice cream and man were they excited!

Red Rock
All in all we had a great time!  Crazy how big our family is now but it's still fun to be together.  Next trip a girls trip without the kids :)

Happiness

I just feel pure happiness right now.  I love my life!  I love staying home with Gunnar and watching him learn and grow.  I love the feeling I get when I see Chad pull up to our house after work.  I love when Chad is home!  I feel so blessed and wish time could just stop for awhile.  Especially right now with Gunnar lying beside me just giggling!  Ahhh...ever have days where you just feel so grateful to be alive?  I'm sure glad when I have these days...much better than sad or sick days that's for sure.

Chad let Gunnar and I go to Mesa for a few days to play and craft.  We stayed with Emily and had so much fun.  Jace LOVES Gunnar and was so funny with him. He's going to be such a good big brother.  Jace was not too much into posing for a pic so this is as good as I got.  He's giving Gunnar a toy.

We had fun playing at Stacie's house too.  Gunnar was loving watching Carson play on the computer.  Carson said, mom does Gunnar really have to sit right here I'm trying to play!  Silly boy!
It is hard to get Gunnar smiling on camera because he is so interested in the camera that he stops smiling.  This is so cute of him bundled up in his camo.

Gunnar and KC. Gunnar is catching up to KC in size that's for sure!  These 2 are going to be trouble I have a feeling!

And this folks is my FAVORITE part of the day...this was just a few minutes ago.  Gunnar wakes up from his nap talking and when I go in to get him he smiles so big and gets really excited!  I don't know why but I LOVE that I make him smile.

haha this shirt says 'got milk' and I've been waiting to take a pic till Gunnar was good and fat...but I waited too long cause it wouldn't fit over his head!haha I thought it would be so cute to have his belly hanging out of a shirt that said got milk. Instead it's just a pic of the shirt not fitting over his head.
